During the fall and winter months when the sun sets around 5pm, everyone is clamoring to warm up indoors
with cocktails after work, making it nearly impossible to reserve a seat at the popular Prescription (Px) Cocktail Club.
Since the sun is setting around 10 pm now, the same folks are prolonging their days on a terrace which means you can take advantage of the 7-9 Happy Hour on summer’s long days - by actually being able to get a seat and sample their new finger food menu specifically paired with the artisanal cocktails.
Regulars (including me) can’t get enough of the avocado-lime duck tucked inside crispy little taco shells topped with red onions ... and these addictive sliders made with white truffle mayo and aged Cheddar (also served alongside what I call “the smoky Whiskey Burger”- homemade ketchup using a blend of Maker’s Mark Bourbon and Peat Whisky; caramelized red & white onions and aged comté cheese.)
Chef Carletta produces the mini buns herself (with a hint of brioche sweetness) and Yves Marie Le Bourdonnec was the first person the Px team contacted after seeing the New York Times call him the best butcher in Paris – he now hand-chops the aged beef patties from a blend of 3 top cuts.
Classic and original cocktails are also of impeccable quality. Made in-house nightly (except the alcohol of course) fruit syrups, fresh squeezed juices, herbs and seasonal fruits go into the glam yet affordable drinks (11-13e).
This Sazarac is gorgeous with a base of Woodford Reserve Bourbon & Cognac.

Other favorites are:
• Florida Tarragon (Vodka Ketel One, house made passion fruit syrup, freshly cut tarragon and just pressed grapefruit) • Mazarini Rosa (Vodka Ketel One, fresh strawberry and raspberry juices, freshly cut mint leaves, squeeze of lemon juice topped with Champagne) • BYP: Bright Young People (Appleton Rum, fino dry sherry, myrtle berries & fresh lime juice) • Very Old Cuban (Havana Rum, fresh lime juice, cane sugar, fresh mint, ginger cordial, angostura bitter & Champagne) • Aged & Fine Whiskies (incl. Japanese from the barrel), Bourbons & Scotch • And for non cocktail drinkers, fruit juices and glasses of Champagne
HOURS:
From 7-9:59pm you can walk in as long as there is room - but it is not guaranteed as Px regulars that reserve have first priority. Bar menu is from 7 – 9, Monday through Friday.
At 10pm it is by appointment and referral only and even with that, you’ll need to book in advance.
